Children love watching seeds germinate. This is particularly true when seeds germinate quickly. Alfalfa is an easy to grow seed that will be sprouting within a week. Sprinkle a few alfalfa seeds on a wet newspaper towel and watch the seeds germinate and grow.

You'll require:
A package of Alfalfa seed (about 1.5g).
A small bowl or small plate
Three pieces of paper towels
a spray mister or small water jug

How to Develop
Put 3 sheets of paper towel on a plate.
Drain the water off the plate. The paper towel should be damp, however the seeds must not be floating in the water.
Sprinkle the seeds thickly onto the paper towel.
Place the dish on a window with a bright sun and water to stop the paper towel from drying out. For wetting seeds, you can use a spray bottle or mister to do so. You can also add water into the saucer with a cup or small jug.
Everyday, you should check your seeds to see if they're growing.

Troubleshooting
Alfalfa is an easy to cultivate seed that will be able to germinate in between 2 and 6 days. If seeds don't sprout in this time, here are a few possibilities of what could have gone wrong:

Too dry. Seeds require water to grow. Alfalfa seeds absorb about their weight in water prior to they germinate, and look larger. If the seeds you have are dry, they will not germinate. Incorporate more water into the plate so the seeds are wet but not floating in the water. You can also soak the seeds over night; but ensure that you drain and rinse them with fresh water before spreading them onto the paper towel.

Too wet:If the seeds are too moist, the new roots and sprouts could begin to rot before they get a chance to grow. The seeds could also turn mouldy. It's okay for the paper towel to be moist, شركات البذور الزراعية في مصر but the seeds shouldn't be floating in water. Each time you water or شركات البذور الزراعية في مصر mist the seeds, rinse off any excess water.

Too hot or cold: The best temperature for alfalfa to grow is 20-25 degrees Celsius. If you're growing your seeds indoors during winter, put them in a warm location. You may need to keep your seeds hydrated more often if you grow them in very hot temperatures. They will dry out much faster.
